Hopefully they can be weeded out in time This is why I agree with you in saying the OP was justified in her reply. These types of people are not healthy for e bay in general and every seller should frown on their behavior. He probably feels a lot of satisfaction whenever he can mess up a sellers ratings and so any petty excuse will do. I would even speculate that the OP's good ratings were what helped prompt him. Good sellers with very good ratings especially don't deserve buyers who use and abuse the feedback system in this manner. The excuse he used for leaving lies, name calling etc in the sellers feedback was just that, an excuse. If he is attempting to make jewelry as he claimed and he can not cut a piece of thin wire by himself then its best he give up the whole idea all together.Unless he's just plain low on IQ points I'm sure he knows that. As its been pointed out already anyone can cut a thin piece of wire in half and that's ALL the buyer needed to do with his order. He was looking to find fault with the seller just as he had done to previous sellers that unknowingly made the mistake of selling to him. True, However I don't think the buyer in this particular case was interested in facts about industry standards. If you sew when you purchase yardage for a project it is always one length. So if you choose to get more than a foot or yard you receive one continuous length. Do I deserve his negative feedback? I've been an eBayer for 20 years, and this is my only negative feedback.Īnd again I emphasize that sellers of wire and trim sell by the foot and yard. He complained to me that he wanted 2 pieces (after I had shipped the wire), and I explained that he only needed to cut the wire himself - which he would need to do ANYWAY! I reported him to eBay, because he did receive what he ordered. Even if I had sent 2 pieces, he STILL would need to cut them down from 4-foot to 3-foot. But here's the kicker - He said he needed two pieces of 3-feet each for necklaces he wanted to make. I missed that in my rush to get the order shipped. What I didn't realize is that he had also sent an earlier message to cut the wire in 2 pieces. So I busted my butt to get the wire shipped before the PO closed. By the time I got home and realized I had an order, it was late in the day, and there was a message from the buyer saying he wanted the wire to be shipped THAT DAY. When he made his purchase, I was out of town, taking care of my 93-year-old mother, who has dementia. He left me negative feedback because I sent him a single length instead of cutting into 2 4-foot pieces. I cut an 8-foot length (including a little extra) and shipped it to him, which is standard practice. This buyer ordered 2 lots, which = 8 feet. I am destashing some jewelry supplies, including some wire.
